Equipment and Setup

My current setup is comprised of a Meade 10 inch LX-200 classic SCT.  It is mounted on a Mitty wedge and ATS Portable Pier.  This provides for a very stable foundation and setup.  The pier rests on JMI Medium Wheeley Bars with 10 inch all terrain wheels.

The Meade LX-200 has been upgraded with a feathertouch focuser, mirror vibration lock modification, and Telrad Finder.

Piggybacked onto the LX-200 is a Williams Optics ZenithStar 66mm Semi-Apochromatic Refractor.

This setup is controlled with either an Apple laptop or more recently wirelessly with the IPAD running sky safari.  The accessories are stored in a Sears Tool Cabinet and is rolled out with the scope.

My quick grab and go setup includes a Televue-85 Apochromatic Refractor mounted on a Great Polaris Equatorial Mount outfitted with the sky-sensor 2000
